WRULD Program Consent Form
I. Teletherapy is the delivery of physical treatment and consultation provided through interactive internet technologies where the patient and the clinician are not in the same physical location. A Smart Link is used to deliver the Hand Therapy Consulting WRULD Program. This program is the Intellectual Property of Robyn Midgley. All rights reserved.
II. The program that is described in this Smart Link has been published in the American and British Journals of Hand Therapy. These articles are available to download within the Smart Link. The program has been used effectively to treat hundreds of patients who have been seen by Accredited Hand Therapist, Robyn Midgley.
III. Clients using the Hand Therapy Consulting Smart Link are expected to report any injuries to their treating therapist so that any exercises that are presented in this smart link can be adapted.
IV. In order for the WRULD Program to be successful, the client must first watch all the instructional video's and have an understanding of the program in its entirety. They must also implement the program on a daily basis using the 20-20-20 rule whereby a WRULD exercise that is demonstrated in the Smart Link must be implemented every 20 minutes for 20 seconds whilst at their workstation and the client must look 20 yards beyond their screen on a regular basis. In addition, Theraputty and Theraband exercises must be performed whilst at their desk.
V. Bonus material has been included in the Smart Link in the form of Stretch & Strengthening classes. Each of these classes should be implemented at least once a week, in addition to the WRULD exercises.
VII. It is recommended that the client's workstation is reviewed and adapted in addition to performing the exercises described in the WRULD program. Robyn Midgley provides online workstation assessments and recommendations. Bookings can be made at https://www.handconsultsa.com/book-online.
VIII. All personal information provided to gain access to the Smart Link will be held confidential and will not be disclosed without permission, except where disclosure is required by law. The electronic systems that are used throughout the service incorporate network and software security protocols (encryption) in order to protect the confidentiality of the patient information and data. The software is GDPR compliant.
VIII. Should the client's symptoms not resolve, then further investigations or consultations may be necessary. It is the responsibility of the client to seek further medical attention.
IX. Robyn Midgley does not accept any responsibility for any injuries that occur as a result of performing these exercises. Clients are requested to perform the exercises with care and to follow the video and PDF instructions.
